Navajo House of Prayer

Mission Statement

"Seeking to live as the body of Christ incarnate in this world. We shall seek to be signs of reconciliation and healing in a broken world. We will work for justice and peace, in accordance with the teachings of Jesus, in the power of the Holy Spirit."

House of Prayer is the congregation located on the Navajo Lutheran Mission campus, serving the Rock Point community as a center for spiritual learning and cultural dialog. Established in 1965 within the American Lutheran Church, HOP is now a member congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and an active cross-cultural ministry of the Grand Canyon Synod.

House of Prayer is supported by HOP members, ministries of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the Grand Canyon Synod, and congregations, foundations, and individual donors from across the US and Canada. With gratitude, we welcome the prayers, volunteer assistance, and generous gifts of our partners throughout the whole Church in the world.

Kate Adelman serves House of Prayer as local pastor and teacher. Community members assist with leadership and Navajo translation.
