New Mission Director and Pastor of House of Prayer Church
Dear Partners in our ministry at the Navajo Mission, Rock Point, AZ,
Even in these times of global economic difficulties, the Navajo Lutheran Mission (NELM) is continuing to live out our mission statement everyday. As you may know from our newsletters and website, we have an ambiguous set of programs for supporting the people of the Rock Point community and for providing opportunities for non-Navajo peoples to help make these programs work through their volunteer efforts, i.e, to live out their response to God's grace in a concrete way.
The daily operation of the NELM falls on the Executive Director and the mission staff. Let me introduce our brand - new Executive Director, Rev. Dr. Lynn Hubbard, an ordained pastor. He is joined in this effort by his wife, Deborah, who is also an ordained pastor and who will be the pastor of the House of Prayer church. They both have experience in parish ministry and with non-profit organizations. Together, they will be addressing the spiritual needs of the Navajo people and of the non-Navajo people who are partners in NELM. |

| The mission is supported mainly by donations from you all, individuals and churches, about 2000 of you in all. It is a grace-full fact that in hard financial times the faithful, that’s you, continue to give to the ministries that touch your sense of God's will for all people. |
We, the Board of NELM, ask for your continuing financial support for this mission ministry to the Navajo people, a Native American people that live within our mutual country and need God's help through us to live out their lives as full Americans and loved people of God.
NELM especially needs your contributions at this time as we prepare for a summer session of our school to provide extra help in reading and math for our students, expand the food bank participation, search for staff for the clinic, and continue to maintain our aging facilities. Both Olga and I feel so strongly about this that we have challenged our own NELM Board members with a $5,000 matching grant! Please pray and then make a generous donation, if you are able, to a ministry that has a proven track record for helping.
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers,
In Christ's Grace and Harmony,
Ron Augustson, Chair
