Navajo Evangelical Lutheran Mission is a non-profit organization funded by the generosity of donors who care about the Navajo at Rock Point and wish to see them thrive. Your donations help provide Navajo families with basic means for survival, including housing, food, clean water, education, and ministerial services.

  • The Mission School is an alternative school to Bureau of Indian Affairs and community schools throughout the Navajo Nation

  • Social needs are addressed by counseling, educational opportunities, and on-the-job training

Navajo Evangelical Lutheran Mission is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, EIN 86-0166564. All donations are tax deductible.

Please email the Executive Director to obtain a copy of our annual report, which is available to all donors. Our yearly tax returns can be found at the National Center for Charitable Statistics. All financial accounting is done by an independent certified public accountant.

Giving back has always been important to Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and its members. In 2010 alone, Thrivent Financial provided $135 million to help congregations, communities and nonprofit organizations.

 

Now, through the Thrivent Choice Program, Thrivent Financial members can recommend where Thrivent FInancial distributes part of its charitable outreach funds each year, including to Navajo Evangelical Lutheran Mission

 

Here’s how you can help

Eligible Thrivent Financial benefit members 16 and older are designated Choice Dollars that they can direct to their preferred Lutheran organizations. Member eligibility and designated Choice Dollar amounts are based on:

  • Holding a qualifying Thrivent Financial volunteer leadership position,
  • Annual premiums of qualifying insurance products, or
  • Contract value on qualifying products

 

Choice Dollar Designations range from $25 Choice Dollars to $2,500 Choice Dollars for eligible benefit members.

As a member of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, we hope you’ll remember the mission through the Thrivent Choice giving program. Thrivent Choice, Launched in the spring of 2010, replaces the GivingPlus matching gift program.

Members can contact Thrivent directly to designate their Choice Dollars. More information about the program can be found at www.thrivent.com/thriventchoice where we encourage you to verify your eligibility for Thrivent Choice dollars.

Arizona residents who pay state income taxes may make a contribution to a state-qualified School Tuition Organization and take a credit against their state income tax liabilities. You may make a contribution up to $1000 for married couples and $500 for single and head-of-household individuals, and claim the entire amount as a credit against your state income tax liability.

 

If you choose this option, make your donation through ACSTO directly, and specify the Navajo Christian Preparatory Academy as the recipient school.

The Box Tops for Education proofs of purchase are also very valuable, as they convert into cash for the school.

In the 2016-2017 school year we earned $4,477.70 dollars towards education with the help of our donors.

 

Our school’s history in the Lifetime Box Tops Earnings we raised $117,801.69!!

 

Thank you! Your support in the contribution of box tops are a great way to be involved in our fundraiser.

​Each year, after the School’s annual Christmas Program, the elderly, mothers, and children line up for the Mission’s traditional Quilt and Toy Giveaway. This gift is only made possible through the financial support and in-kind gifts from our donors. The quilts are sent to us from every corner of the United State through various sewing circles, churches, and individuals. We invite you or your church group to join us each year in making quilts and making “Christmas at the Mission” a special time of year.
